With the support of Lincoln Financial Foundation, Lincoln has given back to communities all over the country. Lincoln Financial Foundation awards grants to more than 300 nonprofits each year that empower and improve the lives of many. Contributing to strong, vital communities is not only intrinsic to our values, it’s our responsibility.

We want to help narrow the achievement gap in American education through programs that support life-long learning, financial literacy and enhanced student achievement levels. Our goal is to help improve graduation rates across the country and empower people to lead greater lives.
In 2015, we awarded 138 education grants totaling $2.7 million. Applications for 2016 will be considered through July 15, 2016. Awards will be announced in September 2016.
2015 award highlights
Each year, we award approximately $10 million to local community United Way locations and nonprofit programs focused on youth education, economic and workforce development, human services and the arts:
- $9.9 million-Cash grants and contributions
- $1.09 million-Employee donations to United Way
- $35,000-LIVE program grants
